Xiaomeng Hu, M.Sc. earned her Master's degree in 2013 at the University of Hamburg and thereafter joined the TSI-Lab as PhD researcher at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf in Germany and at the University of California, San Francisco in the United States. Her research focus is the immunobiology and the differentiation of stem cells. She aims to understand the molecular and cellular changes after stem cell transplantation in order to decrease the immunogenic potential of embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells. The overall goal is the successful application of cell-based therapy in the regenerative medicine. Additionally, Xiaomeng has special interest in the mechanisms pathways behind cardiovascular diseases.
